Wales
Wales is situated to the west of England, stretching from
Chester in the north to Bristol in the south. Apart from the
cities of Cardiff (the capital), Swansea and Newport the
country is mainly a rural community.

Wales was finally united with England in 1536 after
centuries of wars between the two countries.
Successive English kings had built 8 Royal Castles, such as
these at Conwy & Caernarfon, to subdue the Welsh.
Wales is about 90 minutes from Southport and is well worth
visiting to see its dramatic mountainous landscapes...
