Southport
The
town was originally a group of small ancient fishing villages
which came together about 200 years ago to
form the town of Southport.

The
main shopping street, Lord Street, is famous for its
Victorian glass canopies which protect pedestrians from the weather.

Today,
tourism is an important part of Southport's economy, visitors come to
Southport to spend short breaks by the sea or just a day
shopping and having afternoon tea.

There are lots of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and bars
in the town to accommodate the visitors of the various
events which are held in Southport such as, the
music festivals, the Flower Show, the Fireworks Competition
and the Air Show.
Southport is situated in the North West of England, a region
rich in history and beauty. To the north is
The Lake
District, and to the south, the cities of
Liverpool &
Chester and the
Principality of Wales.
