A Typical Programme for the beginner to the advanced trainee...

Arrival, Sunday pm : Relaxed learning environment, 1-to-1 or mini-group tuition

  • We meet you at either Manchester or Liverpool airport on arrival. We take you back to Southport and introduce you to your host family.

Monday - Friday :

  • We pick you up after breakfast and take you to school for the day and evening.

  • Each day is different but you always start at around 08.40 when we pick you up. Your days finish at different times, 19.00 - 22.30, depending on your schedule.

  • You have two teaching sessions each morning with a short break in the middle when we serve morning coffee or tea with typical English pastries or savouries.

  • Each day one of your teachers takes you to a local restaurant or pub for lunch.

  • In the afternoon there are also two teaching sessions with a break in the middle for a typical English afternoon tea.

  • When you finish for the afternoon we take you to your next activity, to see someone or something of interest. Each activity is designed to be enjoyable and interesting but most importantly to develop your comprehension and fluency in English. The following day, with your morning teacher, you give a short talk to explain where you went and what you found out.

  • One afternoon during the week we take you to a place of interest such as Liverpool or Chester; you see and find out a lot of information and with your teacher you discuss it and complete a question sheet. Again, the following day, you give a short talk to explain where you went and what you found out.

  • Each evening is different; your first evening is usually at home with your host family, on the other evenings we take you to a typical English country pub, the cinema, theatre and local events.

  • On Friday afternoon we ask you to give a short formal presentation to your teachers; one of your teachers helps you to prepare your presentation during the week.

  • After your normal morning sessions on Friday you have lunch at school with your teachers and then in the first session of the afternoon we listen to your presentation; we discuss it with you and then leave you to finish the afternoon with your teacher.

Departure, Friday pm / Saturday am  :

  • When you have finished your course we take you back to the airport, Manchester or Liverpool, for your return flight.

If your course is more than 1 week you will also have a weekend programme.
